I am excited to share that the first graduate student conference aimed at encouraging women into Economic Theory research, the Women in Economic Theory Conference (WiETCON) will be held Oct 21-22, 2022, in person at the University of Chicago‘s Saeih Hall for Economics. This is a call for submissions. I would request you to kindly circulate this among the graduate students in your department.
WiETCON is an entirely student-run conference. Given that women are under-represented in our field (theory) compared to econ academia as a whole, the goal of this conference is to encourage women authors and to open up opportunities for networking and collaboration. While submissions from women authors are particularly encouraged, submissions from all graduate students are most welcome.
There is no fee for submitting to or registering for the conference. However, we expect attendees to provide their own accommodation and travel.
Students who are not presenting are also invited to attend. For more information, please visit the conference website, WiETCON 2022. All pertinent information will be posted there.
