Michael Carlos Best of Columbia’s Department of Economics was awarded the President’s Global Innovation Fund, for a project titled Jordanian Economic Policy Research Initiative. Professor Best’s research project will study economic policy in Jordan, with a focus on taxation and public spending.
Professor Verhoogen will study the relationship between unionization and technology adoption in U.S. manufacturing.

Columbia University Office of the Executive Vice President for Research announced the names of six teams receiving funding through Research Initiatives in Science and Engineering (RISE), one of the largest internal research grant competitions within the University.
