There is an opportunity for students and the student groups they are a part of to participate in a research study we are conducting in the Social Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience Lab.
The SHINE (Social Health Impact of Network Effects) Study is a federally-funded research study investigating the experiences of undergraduate students engaged in social groups on campus. Study participants (who will sign up as part of their social group) will complete an initial lab-based session, answer questions about daily experiences on their smartphone, and perform computerized tasks while brain activity is recorded in an MRI scanner. In additional to their data helping advance science, all participants will receive monetary compensation as well as a 3-D printed keychain of their own brain. This first-of-its-kind study will provide new data on the lives of undergraduate students that may be used to help Universities improve the support they provide to students and student groups on their campuses.
More information about the study can be found online.
Please refer to this flyer for additional information.
