Registration for the 2022 Fiscal Challenge competition is open! You may register a team of as few as two and as many as six students. You may change your team composition at any point. Registration closes on March 4th, 2022. Click the image above or button below to register through our website!

Two New Judges Have Joined!

As a reminder, we have locked in two new judges for the 2022 Fiscal Competition Final Round! Shai Akabas, the Bipartisan Policy Center’s director of economic policy, and Sita Nataraj Slavov, a Professor of Public Policy and Co-Director of the Center for Micro-Economic Policy Research at George Mason University, will serve as judges during the final round of the 2022 Fiscal Challenge Competition. What Do We Do?

The Fiscal Challenge is a national collegiate competition that enables students to explore fiscal policy and present unique ideas to promote fiscal responsibility.  Create and present an original plan to maintain the U.S. federal debt-to-GDP ratio at its current level over a 30 year planning horizon by Q2 ‘2051.

Learn More About Us

The Peter G. Peterson Foundation has a Fiscal Internship program where students can engage in fiscal policy through first-hand research experience at public policy institutions in Washington DC, like The Cato Institute, KFF (Kaiser Family Foundation), Urban Institute, and more! The program lasts from June 6th till August 12th in 2022, and applications will be accepted until January 31, 2022. To learn more about this internship program and apply, check out this link!
