Call for traineeships at the European Central Bank issued by three divisions at the centre of policymaking: Monetary Policy Strategy, Prices and Costs and Fiscal Policies. (Reference: 2018-236-TRA).
The campaign is for PhD holders or PhD students who have completed 2 years of PhD studies. The contract runs for a minimum of 3 months, which can be extended to 12. PhD trainees are involved in projects of high policy relevance that can lead to papers being published (at least) in the ECB’s Working Paper series.
Trainees are exposed to the way economic analysis is used to shape policy decisions and have access to some training and to daily academic seminars at the ECB. They are also encouraged to present their work in ECB-wide seminars at the end of their traineeship.
In the past the best among my PhD trainees got research jobs in various central banks after their traineeship, if that was their aspiration.
The deadline is 5 November. Please note that only students with a EU passport are eligible.
