Diversity Film Series: Milk Thursday, October 19, 6:00 pm Graduate Student Center, 301 Philosophy Hall In recognition of LGBTQ History Month, join the Office of Academic Diversity and Inclusion for a free screening of Milk. This 2008 biopic portrays the rise and tragic ending of politician Harvey Milk, the first openly gay man in America to be elected to a major public office, winning a seat on the San Francisco Board of Supervisors in 1977. Dustin Lance Black won an Oscar for best screenplay, and Sean Penn won an Oscar for his portrayal of Harvey Milk. Refreshments provided. Register here.
