About the EDE Program: The EDE Summer Institute is a UChicago program hosted by the Becker Friedman Institute designed to identify and support talented undergraduate students from a broad range of backgrounds interested in the study of economics. The program’s goal is to diversify the pool of students majoring in economics, who may go on to a graduate program of study, or a career drawing on this important skill set. Participants receive $1,200 compensation ($2,400 for Pell Grant recipients) for successful completion of the 3-week program. More information is available at the EDE website: bfi.uchicago.edu/ede
