Jane Street is hosting a special event and would like to invite economics students at Columbia University! We are holding our All Majors Estimathon® at our NYC office on Tuesday, April 4th @ 5:30pm. At this event, we’re particularly excited to meet students studying biology, chemistry, physics, linguistics, statistics, economics, and other fields within the sciences and liberal arts who may be less familiar with Jane Street and what we do. Come play and hear Streeters with diverse academic backgrounds talk about their pathway to Jane Street.

As a quantitative trading firm, we value problem-solving, quantitative reasoning, and creative collaboration. While our industry traditionally attracts people from backgrounds like math and computer science, we know that these skills are developed across all different fields within science and the liberal arts.

Following the Estimathon, we will host a panel featuring Streeters from differentiated STEM backgrounds who will tell you about their academic paths, how they ended up at Jane Street, and how they use their skill sets in their work every day. Food and swag will be provided!

To help us assess catering and swag needs, register yourself (and friends) here by Thursday, March 30th at 11:59pm ET. Transportation will be provided for confirmed attendees. Food will be served at 5:30pm, and the Estimathon will begin at 6pm.

Please Note: This event and its content are intended for students outside of the Math and Computer Science Departments.
