Amazon interviews differ from conventional academic interviews. We focus on
applied econometric case studies and behavioral questions. In the case studies, we
describe business problems we’ve worked on at Amazon and describe data which
may or may not be available to you. You will be asked to walk through an applied
econometric approach to address the problem using available data. We tailor
questions to your area of specialty.
» With the behavioral questions, we ask you for examples which help us understand
how you will index relative to Amazon’s leadership principles. Even if your job market
paper isn’t entirely complete and polished, we’d still encourage you to apply. We
may ask you high level questions about your paper, but your job market paper will
not be the focus of your interview. If you are curious about Amazon Econ interviews,
feel free to watch this YouTube video.
