Teachers College has a new doctoral fellowship program for students who are interested in pursuing a career in applied research in postsecondary education. This is for master’s students or advanced undergraduates who might be interested in this opportunity.
After our first year of successful recruitment, we are now seeking the second cohort (of 3 planned cohorts) of doctoral students (5 students per year) to take a rigorous course of study emphasizing quantitative methods and topical issues in postsecondary education. The Postsecondary Education Applied Research (PEAR) Fellowship is being administered by the Community College Research Center (CCRC) and the Department of Education Policy and Social Analysis at Teachers College and students will work on research projects led by CCRC and TC faculty and apprentice with research organizations and higher education systems.
The application deadline for most of the eligible programs is December 15. Information on the fellowship is at www.tc.columbia.edu/pear-
We are hoping to attract a diverse group of applicants with a wide array of backgrounds, including first generation students and students who have worked or studied in open access institutions. They should have an interest in postsecondary education and its intersections with K12 and the workforce, along with strong quantitative skills. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
The fellowship comes with a generous financial package. Fellows will receive full tuition, health care benefits, and a living stipend for up to five years, plus money to attend research conferences.
We would appreciate it if you could share the information on the fellowship and the webinars with your
