Communications and Administrative Intern
Job description:
The Center for Sustainable Development (CSD) at Columbia University is seeking a part-time casual employee (intern) to assist the Director’s office for March 2023 – May 2023, with possibility for extension. The Intern will primarily assist Professor Jeffrey Sachs’ Special Assistant and the rest of the Director’s Team with communications, general administrative office duties, and special project duties, as needed.
Anticipated roles and responsibilities:
- Social media management
- Website management
- Processing and coordination of meeting and speaking engagement invitation
- Special project support
- Proof-reading and copy-editing
- Other general administrative tasks as needed
Job Requirements:
Candidates must be detail-oriented, work well with minimal supervision, and have excellent writing and editing skills. Previous administrative experience and background in sustainable development, international affairs, and/or economics strongly preferred.
Candidates should ideally be senior students (or equivalent) at the undergraduate level.
Hours per week: 15-20 hours per week
Hourly rate: $19/hour

Research and Communications Intern for the World Happiness Report
Job description:
The Center for Sustainable Development (CSD) at the Columbia Climate School is seeking a part-time, casual employee (intern) to support the research and production of the World Happiness Report 2023 for March 2023 – May 2023, with the possibility of an extension. The intern will primarily assist the Senior Manager at CSD, working with WHR Editors in researching references, fact-checking, proofreading, and formatting for publishing the print and web versions of the annual report.
Anticipated roles and responsibilities:
- Gather and fact-check research resources
- Collect and, when necessary, create figures and tables
- Format chapters in APA Style, proofreading and copy-editing
- Coordinate with editors and authors
- Support graphics and web team
- Assist in the annual launch of the report
Job Requirements:
