The economic studies program at the American Enterprise Institute is hiring a handful of economics students from top schools directly out of undergraduate studies to work as research assistants with our economic studies scholars. In recent years, AEI economics RAs have gone on to Ph.D. programs at Harvard, Berkeley, Cornell, Columbia, Penn, Wisconsin, UCSD, Michigan, Johns Hopkins, and NYU, among other great universities. Our RAs have also gone on to JD or MBA programs at top universities, including Harvard, Yale, Chicago, and NYU.
Research assistants typically spend around two years working closely with our scholars. We pride ourselves on matching RAs interested in doctoral studies with scholars doing peer-reviewed research. Those RAs see papers develop from start to finish and become experts at the data analysis, coding, and econometric methods that will make them attractive to Ph.D. programs and will help them succeed in graduate school. Exceptional RAs often have the opportunity to coauthor with our economists.
We are actively recruiting for this position and anticipate making job offers before the end of the calendar year.
