Research Assistant – Behavior Change for Good’s Summer Research Program
The Behavior Change for Good Initiative (BCFG) at the University of Pennsylvania is hiring Research Assistants for its Summer Research Program. This is a full-time, paid position ($18/hour) from June 10 through August 23, 2024, in-person position in Philadelphia, PA.
BCFG is led by Professors Katherine Milkman and Angela Duckworth, with an interdisciplinary Scientific Team of 175 world renowned economists, computer scientists, doctors, and psychologists. BCFG specializes in conducting large-scale field experiments designed to promote sustained behavior change. We have formed partnerships with some of the world’s largest organizations to reach millions of their customers, members, and students. The Research Assistant will mainly work on a project designed to improve academic outcomes among incoming first-year college students. They will work closely with the BCFG team to create and deliver project material and analyze project data.
The Research Assistant will also contribute to BCFG by assisting with various aspects of other BCFG projects, which may include conducting literature reviews and power calculations, preparing research materials, performing data analysis, and preparing reports and presentations. The Research Assistant will also provide general assistance for BCFG’s work. Applicants should be familiar with social science research methods and data analysis (particularly in STATA and R).
BCFG’s Summer Research Program aims to create a community among the Research Assistants. In addition to contributing to BCFG’s research, the Summer Research Program includes opportunities for building research skills, networking, and professional development.
