The Parker Prize is awarded to a Columbia College senior going on to graduate study in economics who shows promise of doing original work and has already demonstrated boldness of thought and a commitment to excellence, whose interests are wide, heart kind, and spirit generous.

GS Dean’s Prize in Economics
The GS Dean’s Prize is awarded to the graduating GS student who has made significant contributions to the intellectual life of the Department and shows the greatest potential as an economist.

David Estabrook Romine Prizes
The two Romine Prizes are prizes that are awarded annually to two members of the graduating class (CC or GS) who majored or joint majored in economics. One prize is awarded to the student who wrote the best paper in a senior seminar. The other prize is awarded to the student who wrote the best senior thesis.

Departmental Honors in Economics
Each spring the department nominates several of our graduating seniors for departmental honors. The college makes the final decision as to which students will receive honors. Nominees must have a GPA of at least 3.7, receive a grade of at least A- in GU4999 Senior Honors Thesis and be an Economics or Financial Economics Major.
