IDDEAS is a two-day program, April 12-13, 2018, introducing outstanding undergraduates to the field of business academia and research. The aim of IDDEAS is to create a diverse doctoral student environment and, in turn, a diverse faculty population.
I’d like to share a reflection from one of last year’s IDDEAS participants:
“IDDEAS was a magnificent opportunity for me to feel what life as a doctoral student is like. The research activity was beyond stellar, and it absolutely solidified my decision to pursue a PhD.”
This feedback illustrates the core of IDDEAS.
The program is designed for undergraduate students who demonstrate a strong interest in math, statistics, economics, psychology/sociology, and/or engineering related disciplines and want to know more about PhD research degrees in business. We encourage all interested students to apply. IDDEAS will give participants an opportunity to experience what it means to be a PhD student and to enter a career as a professor, academic and/or researcher. IDDEAS participants will take part in doctoral-level research exercises, take mini-master classes with Wharton faculty, hear from Wharton doctoral students, and much more.
To enrich the field of business academia and research, the IDDEAS program invites applicants from all academic and personal backgrounds.
Participation in IDDEAS is through a competitive selection process. Attendance and accommodations are free of charge including modest travel grants. The application deadline is January 31, 2018. You can access the application here. In addition to the application form, applicants must submit:
- Essay
- Self-reported or official transcripts
- Letter of recommendation from a faculty member or advisor
Please share this email with faculty and advisors to encourage talented undergraduates to apply to IDDEAS. The ultimate goal of IDDEAS is to create the next generation of outstanding business researchers and scholars across our collective campuses.
