We have research assistant (RA) openings to work with Richmond Fed economists starting in June 2025. Candidates can apply here: Federal Reserve System Careers (myworkdayjobs.com). Applications considered on a rolling basis, but interested candidates encouraged to apply before October 20th to be considered for the first round of offers. Candidates must be U.S. citizens or Green Card holders, since sponsorship or practical training extensions are not available for this position.
This is a full-time, two-year position for candidates who will have completed their undergrad degree by June of 2025; it should be particularly interesting to someone considering an academic career in economics.
The Richmond Fed research department provides a welcoming environment and we are committed to mentor our RAs and interns in their learning and in their next steps. About 50% of our RAs and interns go on to a PhD in economics, and they get placed in solid, and sometimes top, programs (in the last 3 years: Duke, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Cornell, Stanford, Brown, Chicago, Northwestern).
