The Aspen Economic Strategy Group is looking to hire a Research Associate to come work with our team at the Aspen Institute.
This person will be responsible for performing policy research and writing while also supporting day-to-day program operations. We are looking for an individual with strong analytical abilities, a deep interest in and knowledge of current economic policy issues and topics, as well as a knack for organization and a demonstrated ability to adapt under pressure (preferably with a sense of humor!).

Background and qualifications sought:
Education, Experience, and Skills:
- B.A./B.S. degree in economics.
- Entry level to two years of professional experience in another research role.
- Strong writing skills with a proven ability to distill and summarize complex topics into accessible prose.
- Advanced graph-making skills in Excel, R, or other data vis software.
- Experience working with principals and their staff, such as senior business executives or elected officials.
The ideal candidate will have the following attributes and skills:
- Strong written, analytical, and verbal communication skills.
- A strong interest in US economic policy.
- Adept at meeting deadlines and exhibiting grace under pressure.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, shift priorities quickly, and adapt to a changing environment.
- Strong orientation towards collaboration and problem-solving in a small team environment, including the ability to flex between different projects and tasks as needed.
- Experience with statistical software such as STATA and R, as well as graphing capabilities of STATA, R, and Excel.
- HTML experience (preferred but not required).
- A desire to learn, a sense of humor, flexibility, and resourcefulness.
