We are proud to share that two of Columbia’s Pre-Doctoral Research Staff, Hriday Karnani and Francine Montecinos Puente, have been selected to present their research at the 2025 Pre-Doctoral Economics Conference at Princeton University. This marks the first year that the conference is welcoming pre-doctoral research assistants from outside Princeton, bringing together scholars from nine domestic and international institutions to share their original research. Organized by Princeton’s Department of Economics and sponsored by the Industrial Relations Section, the Griswold Center for Economic Policy Studies, and the Julis-Rabinowitz Center for Public Policy and Finance, the conference highlights emerging voices across the field. Hriday, supervised by Professor David Weinstein, will present “Informational Linkages and Stock Market Comovement,” while Francine, supervised by Professors Sebastian Otero and Noémie Pinardon-Touati, will present “The Gender Diversity Gap in Mathematics.” Their selection reflects the exceptional quality and impact of research produced by Columbia’s pre-doctoral community.
