Columbia University is located in the Morningside Heights neighborhood of New York City, an area dotted with an array of restaurants, coffee shops, bars, theaters, parks, and more. The Morningside campus is also just under a mile from the northwest entrance to Central Park, allowing students easy access to New York’s most iconic park.

Arts Initiative

Through the Arts Initiative at Columbia University, students gain free access to over 30 New York area museums, in addition to discounted tickets to Broadway and Off-Broadway shows.

Columbia Intercampus Shuttle

The University provides free shuttle bus routes between the Morningside Campus, Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory, the Studebaker Building at the Manhattanville Campus, the Medical Center, Harlem Hospital, and the George Washington Bridge Bus Terminal.

Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA)

New York City mass transit operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, across all five boroughs, making it the largest public transport system in the United States.  Just a few steps away from the 116th Street/Columbia University subway station on the 1- train line, Columbia is also easily accessible from other stations.
