Hassan Afrouzi, an Associate Professor of Economics at Columbia University, was awarded the 2026 Division of Social Science Award for Excellence and Commitment to Teaching. The award celebrates a range of achievements, in areas such as academic excellence, community building and engagement, innovation, service, mentorship, and teaching. Recipients are selected by divisional deans in consultation with department chairs, and winners are honored during the spring semester.
