The panel will address the macroeconomic stability issues that emerging economies will face in a context of lower global liquidity. A central question in this discussion will be whether the strengthening of macroeconomic institutions is a necessary and sufficient condition to avoid economic crises in the future. Other issues to be addressed by speakers could be related to what kind of monetary, fiscal and financial regulation policies should be implemented to minimize the risks of a future crisis? How prepared are emerging economies to overcome lower liquidity events? What can be done in the short and medium-term to mitigate the costs of such kind of events?
