The policy analysis unit in the NYC housing department (HPD) is seeking a Senior Policy Scientist for their team. A strong candidate will have both formal training and experience in research methods, particularly with survey data sets like the ACS, be able to manipulate large administrative data, and also be interested in housing and planning issues. This role will collaborate with the team’s project managers and quantitative specialists to help ensure our work is rigorous, our approach to tricky questions is creative, and our outputs are statistically accurate. In addition, the Senior Policy Scientist will be able to pursue in-depth research projects in addition to periodically responding to short-term requests.
