The Economic Tribune is the flagship magazine of the University College London (UCL) Department of Economics. We publish three issues throughout the year, a biweekly newsletter, our blog as well as a podcast: the TribuneDigest. You can find out more about us here: https://www.econtribune.com

This year, our research division has branched out into UCL’s first Undergraduate Journal of Economics (UJE). We aim to cover a wide range of economic topics and provide a platform to showcase the research-oriented education at UCL and other universities around the world. The journal is now available on the UCL Journal Press Website: https://student-journals.ucl.ac.uk/UJE

We would like to invite students to submit research for consideration to UJE. We will accept submissions that fall into a variety of categories, differentiated by type and content.

By type:

1. Full Length Original Research Papers (Between 2000 and 5000 words): Detailed research studies which are the original works of their authors, classified as primary literature.

2. Academic Essays (both short and long): As long as they satisfy the core research requirement of 3rd year BSc Economics research modules.

3. Limited Literature Reviews (Around 2000 words): These can be shorter one-off pieces that explore existing research, point out possible gaps and present opportunities for research with a novel angle or new approach.

By content:

1. Works relating to any sphere and niche of economics are welcome – the journal has a generalist approach to content.

2. Works with a focus on applied theory would be preferred to those which are purely theoretical.

3. We also welcome interdisciplinary studies such as those integrating political science, geography, psychology and computer science, as long as the core of the analysis is Economics

The submission deadline is Thursday, March 31, at 11:59pm GMT. Applicants should complete the following form (https://forms.gle/LRY3Nc6QvrKEKXtk8) which requests basic information, and attach the submission as a Word document.
