The Urban Institute’s Center on Education Data and Policy has two openings for junior education policy researcher:

  • Research Assistant: ideal for 2021 bachelor’s recipients or prior graduates with 0-2 years of experience.
  • Research Analyst: ideal for 2021 master’s recipients or folks with a bachelor’s and 2-4 years of experience in education policy research.

Our work spans pre-k through postsecondary, with topics of current projects including universal prek programs, school segregation, school funding, student loans, and college affordability.

Urban Institute research assistants and analysts work alongside mid-level and senior researchers and frequently coauthor reports, data visualizations, blog, and other public products. Many go on to graduate programs in public policy, economics, and related fields.
