Multiple RAs with strong data cleaning and fuzzy matching skills are needed for the following projects:
Professor Cailin Slattery an economics professor in the Business School is working on two projects with similar data needs: (1) on the political economy of tax breaks and subsidies for firms, and (2) on the relationship between political spending and market power. I am looking for an RA to build a firm and individual-level database of campaign contributions in federal and state elections. There is publicly available data on these contributions. The goal is to match this data to a list of firms of interest, and to track the political spending of the employees at each of these firms. Ideal candidate has experience with data cleaning and fuzzy matching.
Required technical skills: Ideal candidate has experience with data cleaning and fuzzy matching (MS preferred – experienced undergrads will be considered).
Time commitment/project duration: Minimum 10 hours/week.
This is a paid position. $20-25 per hour depending on experience.
