ISSG Undergraduate Essay Prizes
The application cycle for the 2023 ISSG Undergraduate Essay Prizes and Awards is now open. Materials for the Queer Studies Award, Women’s and Gender Studies Award, and The Feminist to the Core Essay Prize are available on our website here: ISSG Undergraduate Essay Prizes.
The deadline for all three prizes is 11:59pm Friday, March 31, 2023.

2023 Elaine Combs-Schilling Memorial Fellowship
The Institute for the Study of Sexuality and Gender (ISSG) seeks applications for the 2023 Elaine Combs-Schilling Memorial Fellowship. The Elaine Combs-Schilling Memorial Fellowship was established in 2017 in memory of Elaine Combs-Schilling (1949-2016), feminist Professor of Anthropology and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. The graduate fellowship offers up to $2,000 to support travel connected to summer dissertation research.

2023-24 ISSG Graduate Fellows
The Institute for the Study of Sexuality and Gender (ISSG) seeks applications for 2023-24 graduate fellows. Graduate fellows will be expected to participate actively in ISSG activities. Fellows will coordinate graduate-focused events such as the ISSG Graduate Colloquium, Theory Salon, Writing Retreats, and Graduate Conference; organize the Graduate Student Open House; attend and help with ISSG public programs as needed; and assist the ISSG Director, Associate Director, and the Directors of Graduate Studies and Undergraduate Studies with occasional research and/or administrative tasks. Compensation for the role will be set at $6,000 (pre-tax), paid via an hourly rate for the period of September 1st to May 31st.
