DESCRIPTION:  \nInfinite-Dimensional Optimization with Applications to Economics \nVenue:\nThis Program for Economic Research (PER)’s Spring Mini Course will be held in two parts.\nPart I: Tuesday\, April 02\, 2024\, 12:10-2:00pm (Room IAB 1027) (get directions)\nPart II: Thursday\, April 04\, 2024\, 2:50-5:00pm (Room IAB 1027) (get directions) \n*Open to current Columbia University students only \nSpeaker:\nChristopher Ryan\, Associate Professor in the Operations and Logistics Division\, The University of British Columbia \nChristopher Ryan is an Associate Professor in the Operations and Logistics Division at the UBC Sauder School of Business. Before joining UBC Sauder he was an Associate Professor of Operations Management at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He does research in optimization theory\, game theory\, contract theory\, operations management\, and video game design. His emerging areas of interest are operations of education and development\, small business operations\, the history and philosophy of the science of management\, and pedagogy for business education\, including K-12. \nCourse materials and prerequisites: He will provide slides and references during the course. The goal is to be somewhat self-contained.
