The Lecture\, given by Eric S. Maskin\, Adams University Professor and Professor of Economics & Mathematics\, Department of Economics\, Harvard University\, will be held from 5:00-6:30PM. \nCurrent methods for electing presidents in the United States and abroad leave much room for improvement. In this lecture\, Professor Eric S. Maskin discusses his work on finding better voting systems. Proceeding axiomatically\, he shows that there are exactly two systems that are optimal: Condorcet voting and Borda voting. \nThis lecture is sponsored by Columbia University’s Program for Economic Research (PER). Please direct all questions to econ-per@columbia.edu. \n
