University of Chicago
Every year Oeconomica hosts the Econometrics Games, an econometrics challenge for undergraduates. On the day of the competition, participating teams are given a dataset and 14 hours to devise and answer a question of economic importance, and then write a comprehensive research paper. Three teams with the best papers are then selected to present their findings in front of a panel of judges. Here is a link to our website that contains information on previous Econometrics Games.

This year’s econometrics game will be held on Saturday, April 7th at The University of Chicago’s Saieh Hall (5757 S. University Ave., Chicago). Final presentations for the top three teams will be held on Sunday afternoon. The top teams will receive prizes and a dinner with the judges.

Last year teams from UChicago, Harvard, Princeton, Northwestern, and other Chicago area schools participated, and we would love for Columbiaundergraduates to participate this year as well. If you know any students who are interested or have any questions, please let me know. The Oeconomica board would be happy to help coordinate any logistics.
