Greetings.
On behalf of the U.S. Department of Labor’s (DOL) Chief Evaluation Office (CEO), I am pleased to announce a competition to fund independent research during 2018-19, culminating in a high-quality working paper relevant to the Department’s policymaking. I am emailing you because we believe that you are an administrator in an academic department or unit that could have interested applicants.
Awards will be made in the range of $20,000–$50,000 for projects that would contribute to the Department’s mission of fostering, promoting, and developing the well-being of wage earners, retirees, and job seekers.
DOL has contracted with Avar Consulting, Inc. to oversee the 2018–19 DOL Scholars Program. Application materials are available at https://www.avarconsulting.com/scholars. Applications are due April 06, 2018.
I would appreciate it if you would share this announcement with your faculty, staff, and graduate students.
Sincerely,
Mark
PS: Information on projects that have been funded in the past (including final working papers) is available at https://www.dol.gov/asp/evaluation/currentstudies/1.htm. The funding of particular topics in the past does not necessarily affect future funding priorities.
