Columbia GlobeMed’s 2021 HillTop conference, titled Pandemics & Protocols: A Multifaceted Examination of the International COVID-19 Response will take place November 5 – 7 2021. As we have watched the pandemic play out all over the world for the past year and a half, it has become increasingly evident that certain countries have excelled at their management of the pandemic while others have fallen far behind in categories such as low transmission rates and vaccine distribution. During our conference, we want to take a closer look at the factors that shaped the international response to COVID-19 and how a country’s success at managing the pandemic was mitigated by factors such as economic status and access to advanced technology and medicines. In addition to lectures, Q&A sessions, and a networking session, our conference this year plans to incorporate a policy challenge where participants can theorize about how to solve pressing issues presented by the pandemic and compete to win a prize. Through our discussion about public health issues around the globe, we hope to facilitate a meaningful conversation about what a more equitable picture of global health could look like in a post-COVID world.

More information about the conference, including the link to register, is available on our website. Admission to our conference is free this year, though we would appreciate a donation to our nonprofit partner organization. If you’re interested in participating, remember to register here by Monday, November 1st and fill out the interest form for the policy challenge.
