I’m writing you on behalf of the Columbia Economics Society. We have an event called “Breaking into Tech as an Economist” coming up on the March 16th (8PM EST) which may be of interest to Economics PHD students at Columbia. The panel will consist of senior economists from LinkedIn and Uber who will cover what it takes to be a great economist at a large tech firm, how best to prepare for a career in tech as an economist, and why a career in tech presents unique opportunities for students passionate in economics. The event is also going to provide undergraduate and graduate students thinking about pursuing entering the tech industry with the opportunity to ask these economists any questions they may have.
As this event is likely to interest master’s and PHD students pursuing economics at Columbia, we would love to inform them about the panel. Would it be possible for the Department to share this event with them?
