This year’s conference, which will be held April 16th through 19th, 2020, will bring together participants, prominent academics, and policy-makers in presentations, discussions, and speeches. We hold keynote lectures and events throughout the weekend to provide attendees with opportunities to hear from eminent economists. This year, we are honoured to host Nobel Laureate and former Chief Economist and Senior Vice President of the World Bank, Paul Romer. Previous keynote speakers also include George Akerlof, Ben Bernanke, John Nash, Peter Diamond, and Joseph Stiglitz. A full list of our past speakers can be found here.

We are currently seeking submissions of journal-length articles to be submitted by a priority deadline of March 7th, 2020. We intend to release acceptances on a rolling basis ending March 23rd, 2020. We encourage all undergraduates conducting original research to submit their articles (though works in progress and detailed abstracts are also welcomed).

Since the Carroll Round’s inception, we have underscored the importance of international economics research. Although this theme remains the focus, this year we are also willing to consider exemplary papers on other topics in economics. That being said, we may request such papers include an international component within the scope of their presentations. For instance, if an article is about the U.S. education system, it should include additional insight into the implications for countries with similar systems.
