We would like to invite undergraduate students studying Economics to submit to the UCL (University College London) Journal of Economics this academic year.
The UCL Journal of Economics is a new, peer-reviewed, student-run publication and the official student journal of the UCL Department of Economics. We publish a yearly issue compiled and edited by students and reviewed by postgraduates and other academic experts. We aim to provide a free and reputable platform for undergraduate economists worldwide to begin their academic journeys, regardless of their previous experience, and create a formal record of high quality undergraduate economic research that may otherwise go unpublished.
Issue 1 included 14 articles from UCL and top American universities, with a great variety of topics studied and methodologies employed. As a sample of the high quality of papers we seek to publish, please refer to this selection from issue 1:
“Racial Hate Crime and COVID-19: A Multinomial Choice Study in the US”: https://student-journals.
“Insects on our Plates? Potential, Challenges and Opportunities in the Edible Insect Market”: https://student-
“Monetary Policy, Portfolio Heterogeneity, and the College Wealth Gap”: https://student-
“Policy Brief: Right-to-Work Legislation 1947—Present in the United States”: https://student-
We are now open to submissions for the 2022/23 academic year from any undergraduate student in the world on economics or related degrees. The deadline for the first round of submissions is 11:59pm GMT, Saturday, April 1, 2023.
