Recent PhD Benjamin Marx Wins National Tax Association Dissertation Award

Professor Benjamin Marx, who recently completed his PhD in Economics at Columbia, received the National Tax Association’s Award for Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation in Government Finance and Taxation for his dissertation "Essays on Charitable Organizations and Public Policy". The National Tax Association is the leading association of tax professional dedicated to the theory and practice of public finance.  The award is based on the dissertation’s originality and significance of analysis for scholars and practitioners of government finance .  It is given to young researchers who have completed the PhD in the last year.  Professor Marx is currently at the Department of Economics at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
